A RESOLUTION ADOPTING THE HAY POINT SYSTEM FOR ESTABLISHING POINT
VALUES ON THE JOB DESCRIPTION FOR EACH POSITION OF EMPLOYMENT IN
THE CITY EXCEPT THOSE COVERED BY CONTRACT
BE IT RESOLVED that the City of Canton adopts the Hay point
system for establishing point values on the job description for
each position of employment in the City except those covered by
contract. Maximum monetary salary caps will be established for
each position by the Finance and Personnel Committee. Said caps
shall be reviewed every 3 years for adjustments which may be
considered for inflation and cost of living changes.
In establishing point values, position descriptions shall be
reviewed periodically to update factors such as accountability,
responsibility, education and other factors included within the
Hay system. New positions or significant changes in present
positions need to be established within one year.
That this Resolution shall be in full force and effect
immediately upon its passage by the City Council of the City of
Canton, Fulton County, Illinois and approval by the Mayor thereof.
PASSED by the City Council of the City of Canton, Fulton
County, Illinois at a regular meeting this 4th day of June, 1996,
upon a roll call vote as follows:
AYES: Aldermen May, Shores, Nidiffer, Phillips, Sarff,
Hartford, Molleck,
NAYS: None,
ABSENT: Alderman Meade,
