AN ORDINANCE RE-ZONING CERTAIN PROPERTY IN THE CITY OF CANTON,
FULTON COUNTY, ILLINOIS.
WHEREAS, a Petition for Re-Zoning, signed by the owners of
record of all the real estate hereinafter described, was filed
before the Planning and Zoning Commission of the City of Canton,
Illinois, requesting that said real estate be re-zoned from R-2
(Single Family Residential) and CO-1 (Conservation District) to an
R-2 (Single Family Residential) zoning classification; and
WHEREAS, the real estate which is the subject of this Petition
is legally described as follows and is generally located North and
East of East Sycamore Street and North 16th Avenue in the City of
Canton, Fulton County, Illinois:
A part of the W 1/2 of the NW 1/4 of Section 25, T. 7 N.,
R. 4 E. of the 4th P.M., being more particularly
described as follows:
Commencing at the Northwest corner of the NW 1/4 of said
Section 25; thence S 89°55'50" E along the North line of
the NW 1/4 of said Section 25, a distance of 260.29 feet
to the Point of Beginning of the tract to be described;
thence continuing S 89°55'50" E along the North line of
the NW 1/4 of said Section 25, a distance of 1050.00 feet
to the Northeast corner of the W 1/2 of the NW 1/4 of
said Section 25; thence S 0°41'43" W, a distance of
493.25 feet to the most Northerly corner of Lot 3 of Park
East, being a subdivision of part of the NW 1/4 of said
Section 25; thence S 46°02'22" W along the Northerly line
of said Lot 3, a distance of 480.00 feet; thence S
61°47'43" W along the Northerly line of said Lot 3 and
along the Northerly line of Lots 4D and 4E of Park East
Section lA, being a re-subdivision of Lot 4 of said Park
East, a distance of 212.20 feet to a point; thence N
35°22'43" W, 221.61 feet; thence N 45°37'07" E, 90.07
feet; thence N 1°19'42" E, 375.33 feet; thence N
88°40'18" W, 433.92 feet; thence N 1°19'42" E, 289.85
feet; thence N 89°55'50" W, 31.32 feet; thence S
43°25'12" W, 391.61 feet; thence N 1°19'44" E, 7.46 feet;

thence N 43°25'12" E, 388.20 feet; to the Point of
Beginning, containing 13.286 acres, more or less; and
WHEREAS, MARTIN W. PAROD and DEBORAH L. PAROD are the owners
of record of the real estate to be re-zoned and there are no other
owners of record; and
WHEREAS, the real estate to be re-zoned is within the
corporate limits of the City of Canton, Illinois; and
WHEREAS, there are no electors residing on the real estate
sought to be re-zoned; and
WHEREAS, all petitions, documents and other necessary legal
requirements are in full compliance with the statutes of the State
of Illinois and the ordinances of the City of Canton, Illinois, and
proper notice of the filing of the Petition for Re-Zoning was given
as provided by law; and
WHEREAS, a public hearing was held before the Planning and
Zoning Commission of the City of Canton, Illinois on November 9,
1992, pursuant to proper notice published in the Canton Daily
Ledger, a secular newspaper having a general circulation in the
City of Canton, County of Fulton and State of Illinois; and
WHEREAS, on November 9, 1992, the Planning and Zoning
Commission of the City of Canton, Illinois recommended to the City
Council of the City of Canton, Illinois that the real estate
described above be re-zoned from R-2 (Single Family Residential)
and CO-1 (Conservation District) to an R-2 (Single Family
Residential) zoning classification; and
WHEREAS, the highest and best use of the real estate described
above is for single family residential purposes; and

WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of the City of Canton,
Illinois that said real estate be re-zoned from R-2 (Single Family
Residential) and CO-1 (Conservation District) to an R-2 (Single
Family Residential) zoning classification.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City
of Canton, Illinois, as follows:
1. That the City Council finds as facts the recitals
hereinabove set forth.
2. That the real estate described above be re-zoned from R-2
(Single Family Residential) and CO-1 (Conservation District) to an
R-2 (Single Family Residential) zoning classification.
3. That the Zoning Administrator of the City of Canton,
Illinois is hereby directed to make the appropriate changes to the
zoning maps of the City of Canton to reflect this re-zoning.
4. That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect upon
its passage by the City Council of the City of Canton, Illinois,
and approval by the Mayor thereof.
PASSED by a majority vote of the City Council of the City of
Canton, Illinois, and APPROVED by the Mayor thereof this l7th day
of November 1992, upon a roll call vote as follows:
