VIF~EREAS, the City of Canton has become the owner of record of a
certain parcel of real property hereinafter described; and,
W-EREA.S, the Legal and Ordinance Committee had determined that
the real property hereinafter described is no longer necessary,
appropriate, required for the use of, profitable to, or for the best
interest of the City of Canton; and,
V~.AS, the City Council of the City of Canton, Fulton County,
Illinois has made a similar determination.

1. That real property presently owned by the City of Canton,
being located and legally described as follows, to-wit:
PARCEL NWBER ONE: Legal Description: Lot Number Sixteen (16)
in Marshall and Fisher's First Addition to the City of
Canton, situated in the County of Fulton and State of
Illinois.
Common Address: 504 South 5th Avenue
Canton, Illinois 61520
be let for sale of such property under the direction City of Canton,
by and with the advice of the City Attorney, at public auction to be
held October 17, 1992 at the hour of 9:30 a.m., at the above described
property.
2. That public notice of the foregoing proposed auction sale
shall be made and provided. The City Council has previously
determined that Ten Thousand Dollars ($10,000.00) shall be the minimum
bid for the above described property.
3. That if the highest bid received at the public auction
aforesaid mentioned is not satisfactory to the City Council, the
property be let for sale by sealed bids under the direction of the
Department of Community Development, City of Canton, by an with the
advice of the City Attorney, and in conformity with the laws of the
State of Illinois and the Ordinances of the City of Canton thereto
appertaining, with the bids to be received within thirty days of the
public auction.
4. The City Council, upon their determination to advertise for
sealed bids on the above described parcel, shall direct bids to be
submitted to the City Clerk, City Building, 210 East Chestnut Street,
Canton, Illinois 61520, on or before November 10, 1992, at the hour of
5:00 P.M., local time. Late bids will not be considered. All bids
submitted shall be opened at the Clerical Committee meeting at its
regular meeting of November 10, 1992.
5. That public notice of the foregoing proposed sale shall be by
law made and provided. A minimum bid of Ten Thousand Dollars
($10,000.00) shall be included in the public notice.
6. That the use of the foregoing parcel of real estate has been
residential in nature and that the present use of the aforesaid parcel
is as determined by reference to the City of Canton's zoning ordinance
and map, as the same may be from time to time amended.
7. Conveyance of title to any successful bidder shall only be by
a quit-claim deed.
8. The City of Canton shall show merchantable title to any
successful bidder by either, in the City of Canton's sole discretion,
abstract of title or a commitment to insure title in the amount of the
purchase price.

PASSED by the City Council of the City of Canton, Fulton County,
Illinois at a regular meeting this 6th day of October 1992, upon a
roll call vote as follows:
AYES: Aldermen May, Chapman, Meade, Bohlen, Steck, Sarff,
Coay, Molleck.
NAYS: None.
ABSENT: None.
