Sept. 9, 1968
Canton City Council held a Special Council meeting called by Mayor W. Paul
Woods on Sept. 9, 1968 in the City Council Chamber. Mayor Woods called the
meeting to order at 4:30 P. M. Present for Roll Call: Aldermen Rusnak,
Howard, Farr, Svob, Jacobs, Sepich, Long, Ellis, Kroell, Spencer, Yerbic,
Danner, and George. Absent= Alderman Skinner.
Pledge of Allegiance was followed by Prayer by Alderman Danner.
Purpose of meeting read by City Clerk Crawford.
1. Resolution Awarding Contract for the Rendering of Certain Technical
Advice and Assistance in the Preparation of Redevelopment Plans for
Project ILL. R-103 (GN).

2. Planning Contract from Urban Programming Corporation of America. r
3. Explanation of action that must be taken.
Resolution for contract for Project ILL. R-103 (GN) read. Alderman Long
moves, Alderman Yerbic seconds motion to adopt this Resolution. General dis-
cussion among the Aldermen as to what was best for the citizens of Canton.
Roll call vote on the motion. AYE: Aldermen Yerbic, Ellis, Long, Sepich,
Farr, and Rusnak
Svob . NAY: Aldermen George, Danner, Spencer, Kroell, Jacobs,
, and Howard.
(6 AYES and 7 NAYS). Motion lost.

Letter from the Urban Programming Corporation of America, dated Aug. 30 1968
stating willingness to terminate the letter of agreement, dated April 16, 1968)
for the preparation of an urban renewal application for the downtown area of
Canton in order that a 1170111 planning study may be undertaken. Motion by Alder-
man Sepich, seconded by Alderman Jacobs that the 'Mayor and City Clerk be
authorized to sign this release. Roll call vote. AYE: Aldermen Rusnak, Howard,
Farr, Svob, Jacobs, Sepich, Long, Ellis, Kroell, Spencer, Yerbic, Danner, and
George. NAY: None. Carried.
Motion by Alderman Yerbic, seconded by Alderman Jacobs to adjourn. Voice vote'
Carried. Canton City Council adjourns at 5:07 P. M.
