M 7,or Woods called the meeting to order at 7:00 P. M. Present for Roll Call: Aldermen Rusnak, Howard, parr, Svob, Jacobs, Sevich, Skinner, Long, Ellis, Kroell, Spencer, Yerbic, Danner, and Ceorge. Absent: None. Pledge of Allegiance was followed by Prayer by Alderman Danner. Motion -by Alderman Ellis to insert "as stated" (sixth paragraph, page 28 of the Spet. 10, 1967 minutes) making the sentence read: Mayor Woods ruled the motion, as stated, out of order" and accept the minutes and place on file. Alderman Kroell seconds this motion. Carried by voice vote. Alderman Long moves, Alderman Skinner seconds motion that all bills properly approved by the department heads and committees be allowed for payment. Roll call vote. AE: Aldermen George, Danner, Yerbic, Spencer, Kroell, Ellis, Long, Skinner, Sepich, Jacobs, Svob, Farr, Howard, and Rusnak. RAY: None. Reports of all officers read. Traffic Committee Chairman, Alderman Ellis, reported that the Petition requesting stop sign on Seventh Avenue and Iyrtle Street was referred to the Traffic Committee, M who, in turn referred same to the 'Traffic Engineers for study. He also reported N that proper location for a traffic light on NortH :lain St. near the Lincoln School and read the recommendations from the Traffic Engineers, Crawford, Bunte, and Roden. Alderman Ellis moves, Alderman Sepich seconds notion that traffic light be installed as soon as possible according to the recommendations of the Traffic Engineers ( d. Plain and. Lincoln Road) . Victor Zavare jg, Canton Community College; regarding the necessity for parking space for Junior College students, and that some plan would soon be worked out. Claims Committee Chairman., Alderman Danner, reported on the claim of Phil Theobald on the loss of his dog, c_l_aiminq 0175.00. Clairu.s corunittee met and approved payment two of 050-50 on this claim. Alderman Danner moves, Alderman Skinner seconds motion to allow ,W-00 on th.l-s clain. Roll call_ vote. Letter from City Attorney to accompany this claim check. Discussion about the need for the teletype equipment used in the Police Dept. Chief of Police Lindzey- stated that the same service can be obtained through the Fulton County Sheriff's office, thus saving $112.20 per month. Alderman Howard move, Alder- man Jacobs seconds motion that the I ayor and City Clerk be instructed to notify the Illinois Bell Telephone Co. to discontinue this ser0ce. Roll- call vote. New computer system will soon be available was reported. by Alderman Ellis. Mayor Woods invited all present to attend a meetinZ of the A.C.I. Downtown Develop- ment Corn. and the Citizens Advisory Cora, 6:00 P. P., Oct. 4, 1967. Mayor Woods thanked the Aldermen for the help given at the State Convention, reported he had been reelected as Sgt. at Arms and that the City Clerk had been named on the Municipal Clerk's nominating committee. Park to Middle Park 0.), an 18" storm sewer on west side to carry water from both sides of the road -- a storm sewer on east siie of street could relieve this condition. Alderman Tarrasked Hr. Ghlee Watson to report on this condition. 1.1r. Watson stated that Mr. Baxter from Division of Highways investigated the need and was to revort to mayor Woods what to be done. Mr. Woods to Call 'Ir.
