Jan. 3, 1967
Canton City Council held a regular meeting on Jan. 3, 1967 in the City Council
Chamber. Mayor Woods° called the meeting to order at 7:00 P. M. Present for
roll calls Aldermen Howard, Rusnak, Svob, Farr, Whitehead, Jacobs, Long, Kroell,
Ellis, Yerbic, Spencer, George, and Danner. Absents Alderman Skinner.
Pledge of Allegiance was followed by Invocation by Alderman Danner.
Alderman Kroell moves, Alderman Yerbic seconds mot ion that the minutes of the
previous meeting be accepted as presented and placed on file. Voice vote.
AYE-. Unanimous.
Bills for the month of December read. Alderman Long moves, Alderman Farr
seconds motion that all bills properly approved be allowed for payment. Roll
call vote. AYE: Unanimous.
Reports of officers read. Alderman Long moves, Alderman Jacobs seconds motion
to accept same and place on file. Voice vote. AYE: Unanimous.
Mayor Woods called for reports of standing committees.
Alderman Long reported that approximately 400 feet of sewer line could be laid
�^ north of the Bradley corner -- proposal fr an the Wiegand & Storrer, Inc. for
this work for $3;338.00 .- twelve inch sewer, twelve to fourteen feet deep
with one manhole. City Engineer Gibbons explained the work to the Councilmen.
Alderman Long moves, Alderman Kroell seconds motion that the proposal of Wiegand
& Storrer, Inc. be accepted and the Mayor and City Clerk enter into an agreement
for the extension of the sewer. Roll call vote. AYE: Unanimous.
Discussion of purchase of lot with a trailer on same for street purposes. City
attorney McMunn and City Engineer Gibbons to study same and report to next Council
meeting.
City Attorney McMunn and City Engineer Gibbons to study the existing dedication of
East Locust Street and report to next Council meeting.
Mayor Woods called for reports of special c anmittees.
Communications to Council.
Thank you notes for flowers from Alderman Jacobs and the Morris Henderson family.

New business
Estimate No. f f or Wiegand'& Storrer, Inc. for work. on Ash Street and Elevelth
Avenue storm sewer proje6t, '$26,508.75, less 10% to be retained, making total
due at this time $23,857.75; also estimate No. 1 for same firm on the sanitary
sewer project to the Junior High School, due at this time $6,326.40. Alderman
Long moves, Alderman Parr seconds motion that these estimates be allowed for pay-
ment. Roll call vote. AYE: Unanimous.
Mayor Woods reported that the new boundaries for wards be listed in the news media.
Announcement of the Illinois Municipal League Convention dates: Sept. 30, Oct. 11
2, and 3.
Alderman George requested a meeting of the Street and Alley Committee immediately
following the Council meeting.
Alderman Yerbic"moves, Alderman Spencer seconds motion to adjourn. Voicevote" .
AYE. Unanimous. Canton City Council adjourns at 7127 P. M.
