Apr. 19, 1966
Canton City Council held a regular meeting on April 19, 1966 in the City
Council Chamber. Mayor Woods called the meeting to order at 9:00 P. M.
Present for roll calls Aldermen Howard, Rusnak, Duncan, Whitehead, Jacobsj, Long,
Kroell, Ellis, Yerbic, George, and Danner. Absent: Aldermen Farr, Skinner,
and Spencer.
Alderman -Kroell moves and Alderman nedrbseconds of Voice accept minutes of
the previous meeting as presented a place on
Unanimous.
Mayor Woods called for reports of standing committees-
Alderman Long reported that the committee had met with the City Engineer
and Plumbing Inspector regarding the water pipe for the extension to North-
view Manor. Alderman Long'then moves that the Council accept the low bid of James
B. Claw and Son, $3,185.50. Alderman Kroell seconds this motion. Roll call vote.
AYES Unanimous.
Alderman Ellis reported that the'traffic engineer had met with the committee and
will have a further report later.
Alderman Howard moves that the City Clerk be instructed to advertise the old
ditto machine for sale (as is and where is). Alderman Jacobs seconds this motion.
Voice vote. AYE: Unanimous.

Mayor and City Attorney to meet regarding this matter.
Mayor'Woods reported that the Department heads should soon make up the vacation
lists.
Report on a meeting of the Canton School Board by Mayor Woods. Mr. Richard Birkey
and Walter Sebo were appointed to represent that body and a meeting will be held
soon regarding dedication of roadways, etc.
Forty-second annual Firemen College to be held June 9. 1os lls and 12. Alderman
Long'recoamnended that some of the City firemen be allowed to attend -- expenses
paid. A further report to be made.
Mayor Woods called for reports of special cosmmittees.
Complaints that it is hard to find an electrical inspector when needed was reported
by Alderman Long. Chief of the Fire Department now does all such inspection.
Mayor Woods called for communications to the Council.
Letter from the Planning & Zoning Commission approving the plat of Mr. Huff on

Alderman Howard moves that George Hocker, be employed for the annual audit

of City of Canton books. Alderman Rusnak s motion. Roll call vote. AYE:
Unanimous.
Inquiry if the City of Canton has dismissed the City of Bushnell regarding the gas
line through the city. Work has not been completed.
Alderman Duncan"moves and Alderman Rusnak seconds motion`to adjourn. Voice vote.
AYES Unanimous, Canton City Council adjourns at 9116 P.M.
