March 8, 1966
Canton City Council held a regular meeting in the City Council Chamber on
March S, 1966. Mayor Woods called the meeting to order at 7:00- P. M.
Present for Roll Call: Aldermen Howard, Rusnak, Duncan, Farr, Whitehead,
Jacobs, Long, Skinner, Kroell, Ellis, Yerbic, Spencer, George, and Danner.
Absent: None.
Pledge of Allegiance was followed by Prayer by Alderman Danner.
Alderman Long moves and Alderman Yerbic seconds motion to accept the minutes
of the previous meeting as presented and place oh file. Voice vote. AYE:
Unanimous.
Mayor Woods called for reports of standing committees.
A meeting of the Claims Committee -Lmediately following the Council meeting
was announced by Alderman Danner.

Mayor Woods called for communications to the Council.
X Letter from the Sanitary Water Board granting permit to Richard R. Huff to
install and the City of Canton to operate a sanitary sewer extension serving
the Huff Subdivision located between Chestnut and Walnut Streets. Alderman
Jacobs moves and Alderman Long seconds motion to accept this letter and
place on file. Voice vote. AYE: Unanimous.
Mayor Woods reminded the Council members of the quarterly meeting of the
Municipal Association of Central Illinois to be held in Cuba on Mar. 9, 1966.
Mayor Woods called for unfinished business.
Mayor Woods called for new business.
First reading of an Ordinance pertaining to No Parking on South Fourth Avenue
(east side) from East Maple Street to a point 175 feet south of said inter-
section. Alderman Ellis recommended that same lay over.
Alderman George stated that Ordinance No. 171 regarding No Parking on Third
Avenue should be reviewed and changes made (Elm Street to Ash Street -- west
side of street) .
Chester A. Miller, Chief Operator of the Sewerage Disposal Plant has been
nominated as the best operator of the region for the year (election to be
held in April) was reported by Alderman Long, Chairman of Sewer and Water
Cbmittee.
Alderman 'Duncan moves, Alderman Yerbic seconds motion to adjourn. Voice vote.
AYE: Unanimous, Canton City Council adjourns at 7:09 P. M.
