Roll call. Present: Alderman Sebree, Martin, Miller, Jones, Wm. Wright, Turner,
Shelby Wright, Roy Hill, Lester Hill, and Bender. Absent: Alderman Landry.
Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved to be placed on file.
Mayor Woods called for reports of Standing Committees and also Special Committees.
Alderman Miller reported that Alderman Lundry contacted him regarding the vacation
pay for Otis Beadles and Donald Lingenfelter after conference with City Attorney
Lawrence McMunn. Mr. McMunn reported that the Ordinance regarding Police vaca-
tions read: first year - no vacation, next two years, one week, from three Years tion
to fifteen years, two weeks vacation and over fifteenyeeaorfs$ three weeks vaon the.

Mayor Woods reported that he, City Attorney McMunn, City Engineer Gibbons, and
Street Superintendent Jenni Sys were called to attend a meeting with Mr. C. W.
Klassen regarding the $48,000.00 Federal grant for sewer and water improvements.
They were informed that in order to receive this grant, the project must be under
construction before June 30, 1959 -- and since not much headway had been made,
it would be advisable for the City of Canton to temporarily d withdraw thedrequest
and renew plans providing the bond issue carried. would for a
