Feb. 19, 1957
A regular meeting of the City Council held this day convening at the hour of
7:00 r. M. with Ma-�-or Woods presiding. Roll call showed the following present:
Alderman Sebree, Lundry, Swick, Miller, Tink, Coleman, Turner, Staley, Cook and Hill.
Absent: Alderman Smith and Skinner.
Minutes of the previous meeting were read and stood approved as read.
Resolution for 4 additional Overhead Lamps, was on motion of Alderman Sebree,
seconded by Alderman Lundry, adopted by the following roll call vote: AYE: Alder-
man Sebree, Lundry, Swick, Miller, Tink, Coleman, Turner, Staley, Cook and Hill.
NAY: None.
Resolution "Police Dept.-personelle" wqs read and adopted on m:Dtion of Alderman
Hill, sed8nded by Alderman Lundry, by the following roll call vote: AYE: Alderman
Sebree, Lundry, Swick, Miller, Tink, Coleman, `Turner, Staley, Cook and Hill. NAY : None.
Renort of the census taker of W. Locust St. Limits, showing a total of 181 persons,
was on motion of Alderman Swick, seconded by Alderman Miller, accepted and ordered filed,
by a viva voce vote.
Renort of the census taker of E. Chestnut St. limits, showing a total of 343 people
was on motion of Alderman Coleman, seconded by Alderman Miller, accented and ordered
filed by a viva voce vote.
Renort of the census taker of E. Beech, South Main and Hickory Streets, showing
a total of persons -54, was on motion of Alderman Lundry, seconded by Alderman Cole-
man adopted by a viva voce vote.
Annexation Ordinance"Annexation of certgin territory in name of Jesse S. Tarr and
Hilda Tarr" was read the first time. It was moved by Alderman Hill, seconded by
Alderman Cook to suspend the rules. Roll call vote: AYE: Alderman Sebree, Lundry,
Swick, Miller, Tink, Coleman, Turner, Staley, Cook and Hill. NAY: None. It was
then moved by Alderman Swick, seconded by Alderman Turner to place the ordinance on
its passage. Roll call vote: AYE: Alderman Sebree, Lundry, Swick, Biller, Tink,
Coleman, Turner, Staley, Cook and Hill. NAY': None. The chair declared the motion
carried and Ordinance passed, ':)eing Ordinance NO-323.
Alderman Staley moves, seconded by Alderman Cook, to allow bill in the name of
Irene Lingerfelter, total s,lm of $46.00, for sewer repair work, to be paid from the
Water & Sewer Fund. Roll call vote: AYE: Alderman Staley and Cook. NAY: Alderman
Sebree, Lundry, Swick, Miller, Tink, Coleman, Turner and Hill. The chair declared
the motion xxxximic lost.
Alderman Staley moves, secorried by Alderman `rink, the City notify the Federal
Government we ar6 not op_nosed to an Armory, but are opposed to leasin South 11 ark
for that purpose. Roll call vote: AYE: Alderman Sebree, Lundry, Swick, i"filler,
Tink, Turner, Staley, Cook and Hill. NAY: Alderman Colerran.
On motion of Alderman Staley, seconded by Alderman hook, the meeting adjourned.
