A regular meeting of the City 1'ouncil held this day cone ni.ng at the hour of
7:30 P. M. with l�layor Woods presiding. Roll call showed the following present:
Alderman Sebree, Swick, Smith, Miller, Tink, Coleman, Turner, Staley, Oook, Jennings
and Hill. Absent: Alderman Duncan, Lundry and Skinner.
Minutes of the previous meeting were read and stood approved as read.
Petition to install a 500 gal. underground gasoline storage tank on North Fifth
Avenue between Sycamore and Corp., was on motion of Alderman Hill, seconded by
Alderman Jennings, granted, subject to the approval of the City engineer and "ire
Chief, by a viva voce vote.
Petition of property owners of Quality Hill requested installation of Water
and Street Lights. It was moved by Alderman Cook, seconded by Alderman 4ennings,
the City Engineer draw up plans and specifications for the water improvement and
the Light 'ommittee check into the possibility of Lights, and the motion carried
by a viva voce vote.

The following monthly reports were submitted and on motion of Alderman Smith,
seconded by Alderman iennings, accepted and ordered placed on file: City Engineer;
St. Supt; Bldg. Comm; Sewage Treatment plant; Water Plant; Water & Sewer Dept;
Plumbing Inspector; and chief of rolice.
Alderman Jennings moves, seconded by Alderman Smith, anOrdinance be drafted,
making Chestnut Street, a one-way street from First Ave. to Main Street, and the
motion carried by a viva voce vote.
It was moved by Alderman Hill, seconded by Alderman Cook, to oil the road around
the Lake, to be paid from the Lot Lease monies, and the motion carried by the following
roll call vote: AYE: Alderman Sebree, Swick, Smith, Miller, Tink, Coleman, 'Turner,
Staley, Cook, Jennings and Hill. Nay: None.
Alderman 'oleman moves, seconded by Alderman link, to grant request of Junior
Carmack to break the curb at Main and Myrtle St. for about 100 feet, for drive-in
purposes. Roll call vote: AYE: Alderman Sebreel Tink, Coleman, Turner and hill.
NAY: Alderman Swick, Smith, Miller, Staley, Cook, Jennings. AYE:-5; NAY-6. the
chair declared the motion lost. - i
The following resolutions for allotment of Motor Fuel 'Tax Funds for payment
of Public Benefit Assessmentw was presented:

It was moved by Alderman Smith, seconded by Alderman Cook, to approve the resolu-
tions, and the motion carried by unanimous roll call vote: AYE: Alderman Sebree, Swick,
Smith, "filler, Tink, Coleman, Turner, Staley, .Cook, Jennings and Hill. NAY: None.
Resolution to transfer $11,392.00 from the Sales 'Tax Fund to the rublic Benefit
Fund was on motion of Alderman Smith, seconded by Alderman Cook, adopted by the follow-
ing vote: AYE: Alderman Sebree, Swick, Smith, Miller, Tink, Coleman, 'Turner, Cook,
Jennings and xill. NAY: Alderman Staley.
Ordinance entitled "Annual Tax Levu Ordinance" was read the first time.
Bond of Edward Powell, special policeman, was on motion of Alderman ''ook, seconded
by Alderman Coleman, approved. '
Alderman Miller moves, seconded by Alderman Hill, bids received for opening on this
date for painting of exterior and interior of City building, be opened and read.
Bids of L. U. Baylor, Ercell Brush, and the Republic Powdered i"ietals Co.,were
referred to the Buildings and Grounds committee to study and report back.
The Mayor appoints Alderman Swick, to serve as Chairman of the Buildings and
Grounds Committee, to replace-Alderman Duncan, and until a new head is appointed.
Alderman Turner is excused.
Mr. Crawford of Crawford, Murphy & Tilly, submitted to the Council their recom-
mendations in regard to improvements to the Sewage Treatment Plant.
It was moved by Alderman Staley, seconded by Alderman Hill, the Clerk advertise
for sealed proposals for the construction of Sewage `Treatment Plant Improvements,
bids to be received on July 24th at 7:30P.M., and the motion carried by a viva voce
vote.
On motion of Klderman Staley, seconded by Alderman Smith, the meet adjourned.
