M. with Mayor Woods presiding. Roll call showed the following present: Alderman L'uncan3 Sebree, Lundry, Swick, Smith, Miller, Tink, Coleman, Turner, Staley, Cook, Jennings and Hill. Absent: Alderman Skinner. Minutes of the previous meeting were read and stood approved as read. A proposal was submitted for treatment for Dutch Elm Disease^ at a cost of $1.6P per tree. It was moved by Alderman Lcrn1rnj, seconded by Alderman Smith, the City have sprayed, trees belonging to the Cit�r only, and the motioncurried by the following vote: AYE: Alderman Duncan, Sebree, Lundry, Swick, Smith, Miller, Tink, Coleman, 'Turner, Staley, Cook, Jennings and Hill. NAy: None. It was moved by Alderman Stale-, seconded by Alderman Duncan, the Mayor and Clerk enter into a contract with Raymond Whitehead to seine Lake Canton yearly for a five year period, and the motion carried by unanimous roll call vote. It was mbved by Alderman 'Turner, seconded by Alderman cancan, the Eagleston Pop-corn wagon on the Square be charged a flat rate of x:2.00 per week, yearly, and -� the other pop-corn stands pay the regular cater fee. Roll call vote: AYE: Alderman Duman, Sebree, 1,an..Irys Swick, Smith, Miller, Tink, Coleman, Turner, Staley, Cook, Jennings and Hill. NAY: None. The chair declared the motion carried. Ordinance "Annexation of Quality Hill Addition" was read the first time. It was moved by Alderman Cook, seconded by Alderman Duncan to suspend the rules. Roll call vote: AYE: Alderman Duncan, Sebree, Lundry, Swick, Smith, Ailler, Tink, Coleman, turner, Cook, Jennings and Hill. NV: Alderman Staley. The chair declared the motion carried. it wr,s then moved by Alderman Duncan, seconded by Alderman Sebree, to place the Ordinance on its passage. Roll call vote: AYE: Alderman Duncan, Sebree, Lundry, Swick, Smith, Miller, 'fink, Coleman, Turner, Cook, Jennings and Hill. NAY: Alderman Staley. The chair declared the motion carried and Ordinance passed, being Ordinance No. 273. Ordinance "Boat License" was read the first time. It was moved by Alderman Staley, seconded by Alderman Duncan, to suspend the rules requiring the ordinance ba read the second time. Roll call vote: AYE: Alderman Duncan, Sebree, Lundry, S ick, Smith, Miller, Coleman, Turner, 7taley and Jennings. NAY: Alderman Tank, Cook and Hill. AY:E:-10; NAY-3. The chair declared the motion carried. Alderman Cook moves, seconded by Alderman Jennings, owners of speed boats het a permit from the City Council, for purpose of testing thier speed boats on the Lake. Roll call vote: AvE: Alderman: Alderman Nick, Cook and Jennings. NAY: Alderman Duncan, Sebree, Lundry, Smith, Miller, Tink,Coleman, Turner, Staley and Hill. AYE:-3; NAY-10. The chair declared the motion last. It was then moved by Alderman Lundry, seconded by Alderman Smith, to place the "Boat License Ordinarn e" on its passage. Roll call vote: AYE: Alderman Duncan, Sebree, Lundry, Swick, Smith, Coleman, Turners Staley. NAY: Alderman Miller, Tink, Cook, Jennings and dill. AYE:-8; NAY-5. The chair decalred the motion carried and Ordinance passed, being Ordinance No. 274. It was moved by Alderman Staley, seconded by Alderman Duncan, the Mayor request the Fire & Police Corrm iisson to furnish a Fireman to serve during vacation periods and the motion carried by a viva voce vote. The Mayor, City -ngineer, and. City Attorney, were a;.:thorized to check farther into the matter of a city-operated "parking lot. Alderman Cook suggests an ordinance be :hafted changing tho present ordinance to mark off a space 50ft. east of Second yv2. at Elm Wit. instead of the -resent 30ft.
