12-20-1955 Council Meeting Minutes
17 Canton, Illinois Dec. 20, 1955 A regular meeting of the City Council held this day convening at the hour of 7:00 P. M. with Mayor Woods presiding. Roll call showed the following present: Alderman Duncan, Sebree, Lundry, Swick, Smith, Miller, Skinner, Tink, Turner, Staley, Cook, Jennings and Hill. Absent: Alderman Coleman. Minutes of the previous regular meeting and special meeting of Dec. 8th, were read and stood approved as read. It was moved by Alderman Tink, seconded by Alderman Skinner, a resolution be drafted designating a street light on the So. side of the Street between vecond Ave. and T1,ird Avenue in alley-way on Oak St., and the motion carried by unanimous roll call vote. On motion of Alderman Jennings, seconded by Alderman Hzll, it was �e d that an Resolution be presented designating a street light be installed on 7th Avenue between Olive and 14yrtle St., and the motion carried by unanimous roll call vote. It was moved by Alderman Jennings, seconded by Alderman Staley, to pa;� the Pittsburg Tank & Tower Co., their request for $3900.00 on Contract, providing the Packing in Collar is done at this time, and the Inspector so recommends. Roll call vote: AYE: Alderman Duncan, Sebree, 'sundry, Swick, Smith, Ailler, Skinner, Tinke, Turner, Staley, Cook, Jennings a n, h ill. NAY: None. Tho chair declared the motion carri,,d. On motion of Alderman Lundr,,; , seconded by Alderman Jennings, the meeting adjourned.
