Dec. 8, 1955
A special meeting of the City Council was held this day convening at the
hour of 7:00 P. M. in the Council Chambers, with Mayor Woods presiding. The
call for this special meeting was read as follows:
To: The City Clerk of the City of Canton, Illinois: You will call a special
meeting of the City Council of Canton, Illinois, to be held in the Council
Chambers in the City Building of said City at 7:OOP.M., Wednesday, Dec. 7, 1955s
for the purpose of considering emergency repairs to water tank of said city.

Lee Co6k.
Roll call showed the following present: Alderman Duncan, Lundry, Swick,
Smith, Miller, Tink, Coleman, Staley, Cook, Jennings and Hill. Absent: Alder-
man Sehree, Skinner and Turner.
An Emergency Repair Contract is explained in detail by a representative of
the "'ittsburg Tank & Tower Co.
Alderman Turner comes in.
After discussion pro and con, it was moved by Alderman Smith, seconded by
Alderman Jennings, to declare the needed repairs to the water tank an emergency,
and dispense with bids for same. Roll call vote: AYE: Alderman Duncan, Lundry
Swick, Smith, Miller, Tink, Coleman, Turner, Staley, Cook, Jennings and Hill.
NAY: None. The chair declared the motion carried.
The Lmergency Repair Contract of Pittsburg Tank & Tower Co., was then read
in detail. It was moved by Alderman Staley, seconded bar Alderman Coop, the 0ayor
and City Clerk enter into this Contract with the Pittsburg Tank & Tower Co. for
repairs to the water tank. Roll call vote: AYE: Alderman Duncan, Lundry, Swick,
Smith, Miller, Tink, Coleman, Turner, Staley, Cook, Jennings and t1ill. M:None.
The Mayor submits the name of Geo. Winship and Frank Routledge as Tank
Inspector. It was moved b-, Alderman Staley, seconded by Alderman Cook to confirm
the appointments. The motion carried by the following vote: AYE: Alderman tea,
Duncan, Landry, Swick, Smith, Miller, Tink, Coleman, Turner, Staley, Cook, Jennings
and dill. NAY: none. The chair declared the motion carried.
It was moved by Alderman Staley, seconded by Alderman Hill, that a sum not to
exceed $100.00 be paid for inspections. Roll call vote: AYE: Alderman Duncan, Lundry,
Swick, Smith, Miller, Tink, Coleman, Turner, Staley, Cook, Jennings and Hill. NAY:none.
On motion of Alderman Tink, seconded by Alderman 5mi_th, the meeting adjourned.
