Dec. 21, 1954.
A regular meeting of the City Council held this day convening at the hour of
7 :00 P. M. with "ayor Woods presiding. Roll call showed the following presebt: Alder-
man Sebree, Duncan, 1"loore, Landry, kliller, Smith, Linder, Skinner, Coleman, gook,
Staley. Absent: Alderman r'lobuchar.
'°'inutes of the Previous meeting were read and stood approved as read.
Bond of Wm. 11. Malmgren, as member of the Fire ac Police commission, in the
sum of $1,000 with the American Surety Co. of N. 1. was on motion of alderman Duncan,
seconded by alderman Coleman, approved and ordered placed on file by a viva voce vote.
Resolution appropriating the sum of $40, 906.95 from the Piotor `uel Tax for
payment of bonds and obligations outstanding on Public Lenefit Assessments, was on
motion of Alderman Moore, seconded by Aldermal Smith, adopted by unanimous roll
call vote.
resolution for "'aintenance of Arterial Streets under the lvlotor Full Tax and
appropriating the sum of $10,615.00 for the year of 1955, was on motion of Alde man
Skinner, seconded by Alderman Linder, adopted by uanimous roll call vote.
resolution tax calling the Primary Election on Feb. 22, 1955 and 'Jeneral 'election
on April 19, 1955, was on motion of Alderman "oore, seconded by Alderman Luncan,
adopted by unanimous roll call vote.
Ordinance "Vacation pay" was read the second time. It was moved by alderman "oore,
seconded by Alderman Duncan, to glace the Ordinance on its passage. Roll cal 1 vote:
AYE: Alderman Sebree, Duncan, '°'oore, Lundry, Miller, Smith, finder, Skinner, Coleman,
Cook and Staley. NAY: None. The chair declared the motion carried and Ordinance passed,
being Ordinance No. 226
Ordinance "Stop-signs on 7th & Maple" was read the first time. It was moved by
Alderman Cook, seconded by Alderman Staley to suspend the rules. Roll call vote:
Alderman Sebree, D11ncan, Moore, Lun 'ry, 14iller, Smith, Linder, Skinner, Coleman,
Cook and Staley. NAY : None. It was then moved by Alderman Cook, seconded by Alderman
Staley to place the Ordinance on its passage. Roll call vote : AYE: Alderman Sebree,
Duncan, Moore, Lundry, Miller, Smith, Linder, Skinner, Coleman, Cook and Staley.
NAY: None. The chair declared the motion carried and Ordinance passed, being "rdinance
No. 227.
Ordinance "Annexation of A part of the S.E.J of Section 34" was read the first
time. It was moved by alderman Skinner, seconded by Alderman Linder to suspend the
rules. Roll call vote: AYE: Alderman Sebree, Duncan, Moore, Lundry, killer, Smith,
Linder, Skinner, Coleman, Cook and Staley. NAY: None. It was then moved b;, Alderman
Linder, seconded by Alderman Coleman to place the Ordinance on its passage. poll call
vote: AYE: Alderman Sebree, Duncan, Moore, Lundry, Miller, Smith, Linder, Skinner,
Coleman, Cook and Staley. NAY: None. the chair declared the motion carried and ordi-
nance passed, being Ordinance No. 228.
It was moved by Alderman Miller, seconded by Alderman "oore, an Ordinance be
prepared, placing stop-sign at the N. E. corner of W. Maple St. stopping taffic
going west, and the motion carried b-,� unanimous roll call vote.
In regard to Patrolman St.Cla ir's request for leave of absence, it was moved by
Alderman Staley, seconded by Alderman Cook, the Police � Fire 6ommission be advised
not to recognize any requests for leave of absence, only those as provided by law, and
the motion carried by a viva voce vote.
It was moved by Alderman Smith, seconded by Alderman Maley, the Police & Legal
Committee and Finance Committee be instructed not to replace this officer, and the
motion carried by a viva voce vote.
On motion of alderman Staley, seconded by Alderman Linder, the meeting then
adjourned.
