Nov. 16, 1951
A regular meeting of the City Council held this day convening at the hour of
7:OOP.M. with Mayor Y'oods presiding. Roll call showed the following present:
Alderman Sebree, Duncan, Moore, Miller, Smith, Linder, Skinner, Tink, Coleman,
Cook, Staley and Klobuchar. Absent: Alderman Lundry.
Minutes of the previous meeting were read and stood approved as read.
A communication from the Illinois Petroleum Industries Committee, requesting
permission to present a Chemistry of a Petroleum Fire demonstration at the meeting
on Dec. 7th, was on motion of Alderman "oore, seconded by -alderman Smith, granted.
Resolution for installation of street light at Cass Place and 'lip-ile Court,
was on motion of Alderman Sebree, seconded by Alderman Duncan, adopted by unanimous
-� roll call vote.
Resolution requesting from the Motor i"uel 'lax the sum of $49,567.83 for
Obligation Retirement, was on motion of Alderman Skinner, seconded by Alderman
�+ Linder, adopted, by unanimous r )ll call vote.
Ordinance "No parking on E. Locust Street from Third Ave. to Fifth Avenues'
was read the second time. It was moved by Alderman Moore, seconded by Alderman
Klobuchar, to place the Ordinance on its passage. Roll call vote: AYE: Alderman
Sebree, Duncan, Moore, Miller, Smith, Linder, Tink, Coleman, Cook, Staley and
Klobuchar. NAY: Alderman Skinner. The chair declared the Ordinance passed

Ordinance No.224.
Ordinance "Stop-signs at intersection of Alley wing between First and SQcond
and Chestnut and Elm" was read the first time. It was moved by Alderman Skinner,
seconded by Alderman to suspend the rules. Roll call vote: AYE: Alderman Sebree,
Duncan, Moore, Miller, Smith, Linder, SkinnerjF Tink, Coleman, Cook, Staley and
Klobuchar. NAY: None.` It was moved by Alderman Cook, seconded by -alderman Sebree,
to place the Ordinance on its passage. Roll call vote: AYE: Alderman Sebree,
Duncan, Moore, Miller, Smith, Linder, Skinner, Tink, Coleman, Cook, btaley and
nlobuchar. NAY: None. The chair declared the motion carried and Ordinance passed,
being Ordinance No. 225.
Alderman Staley moves, seconded by Alderman "'lobuchar totake off the table
Ordinance "Unlawful to park vehicles on East Side of 1"fifth Ave. from Locust to Linn".
Roll call vote: AYE: Alderman Moore, Smith, Staley and Klobuchar. NAY : Alderman
Sebree, Duncan, Miller, Linder, Skinner, Tink, Coleman and Cook. The chair declared
the motion lost.
James Morse of the .fir. Ohamber of ''ommerce, requested permission to place in
Jones Park, the Christmas Nativity Scene, also permission to block off about eight
parking meters in front of the scene, after 5:00 P.M. each day, beginning the first
of December and extending to Jan. 1. It was moved by Alderman Moore, seconded by
Alderman Tink, to grant the request, and the motion carried by a viva voce vote.
On motion of "lderman Linder, seconded by Alderman Smith, the meeting adjourned.
