March 16, 1951
A regular meeting of the C _ty Council held this day convening at the hour of 7:00 P.M.
with Mayor Woods presiding. Roll call showed the following pres: nt: Alderman Sebree,
L'uncan, Moore, Lundry, Miller, Smith, Linder, Skinner, Coleman, Staley, and Fuskarich.
Absent: Alderman Tink, Cook and Klobuchar.
Minutes of the previous meeting were read and stood approved as read.
It was moved by Alderman Duncan, seconded by Alderman Sebree, to purchase for the
Police Department, car from the Sims Co., accordinU to their bid submitted at the
pr,?vi_ous meeting. Roll call vote: AYE: Alderman Sebree, Duncan, Moore, Landry,
Miller, Smith, Linder, Skinner, Coleman, Staley* and Puskarich. NA`': None.
It was moved by Alderman Moore, seconded by Alderman Landry, the Legal and police
Committee notify the Fire & Police Oommissi.oners to prepare a man for the Police
department to serve during vacations only. Roll call. vote: AYE: Alderman Sebree,
Duncan, Floore, Lundrr, Miller, Smith, Linder, Skinner, Coleman, Staley and
Puskarich. NAY: None. The chair declared the motion carried.
It was moved by .!Alderman Linder, Seconded by Alderman Smith, to purchase a billing
machine for the water & sewer department, at a cost of approximately ? 2300.00.
Roll call vote was unanimous.
Alderman Duncan_ moves, seconded by Alderman Smith, an ordinance be prepared, rd-
rlacing a number of Narking meters, to be placed froml5ft. to 5 feet, and the
motion Carr -ld by a viva voce vote.
It was moved by Alderman Linder, seconded by Alderman Staley, to pay the City of
Quincy for Joint U� oleeve purchased from them, as soon as the bill arrives, and
the moti-m carried by unanimous roll cell vote.

Communication from Scruggs & Hammons, reoria, Ill, proposed to prepare a Frelimin-
any Survey to d etermine the requirements for fairmulati Y a City Flan,and Zoning
Ordinance, at a maximum fee of $_A0.00, t was moved b Alderman Smith seconded
by Alderman Coleman to enter into this agreement and the motion carried by unanimous
roll call vote.
Ordinance entitled "Ordinance prepared and transmitted and its passage recommended
by the Board of Local Improvements of the City of Canton, Illinois, presiding for
the local improvement of certain portions of reeling Court, Jor.nson Court, Ca's
Place, N. 1ve. B and W. Sprv.ce Street, designated "Canton raving Improvement No.
53-A" was read for the second time. It was moved by Alderman Moore, seconded by
Alderman Landry to place on its passage. Roll call vote: AYE: Alderman Sebree,
Duncan, P7oor;, Landry, Miller, Smith, Linder, Skinner, Coleman, Staley and Puskarich.
NAY: ?`Tone. Trr 3hair declared the motion carried.
Alderman Miller moves, seconded by Alderman Duncan, an Ordinance be prepared for
erection of a Stop-Sign on Wamt Manle Street and Martin ^venue, and providing
no-narking on the South side of Male St. from . artin Ave. to the top of the 1_1.
The motion carried by a viva voce vote.
Alderman Puskarich moves, seconded by Alderman Coleman, bids rcce_ved for 1954
Maintenance raterials be opened..
