On :notion of Alderman Moore, seconded by Xlderman Duncan the reports were accepted and ordered filed. { Alderman Moore reported that the Plating and Zoning committee, had made arrange- ments to meet with 4- f - ',t ,u from the University of Illinois and repres ntatives of various city organizations, and endeavor to get a program started in the near future. Finan) Water Works_ 6 Til�lman,Inc.- - -16,���.�7 99 A communication from Crawford, Aurnhy & iilly recommended that grading and sidewalk construction at the Water Treatment Plant be delayed until s,)ring, and credit offered by Tillman, Inc. if this is eliminated From the Contract, amounting to $473 It was moved by Alderman Linder, seconded by Alderman Staley, to approve and accept the recommendation. boll call vote: AYE: Alderman Sebree, Luncan, Moore, Lundry, I+ ller, Smith, Linder Skinner, Tink, Coleman, Cook, Staley, Klobuchar and Puskarich. NAY: None. The chair declared the motion carried. "ommunication from the :)tate Dept. of Sanitary engineers, announced the annaul Water Treatment Plant operators ' course, to be held at the Oniversity of Illinois. It was moved by Alderman Linder, seconded by Alderman 6mith, if the water plant operator decides it is to his interest, he be allowed to attend, and the City to pay all expenses, and the motion carried by a viva voce vote. It was moved by Alderman Moore, seconded by Alderman Smith, the Ordinance committee $, and,Traffic Committee with the Chief of Police, make a survey of parking meters on the square, and if possible to replace some meters recently removed, and the motion 17 carried by a viva voce vote. >.v V Resolution directing the transfer of } 10,000 from the narking ;­Teter Fund to the Fire `rotection rund, was on motion of `'ld,;erma.n Moore, seconded by Alderman Coleman, adopted by the following vote: AYE: Alderman Sebree, Duncan, Moore, Lundry, Miller, Smith, Linder, Skinner, Tink, Coleman, Cook, Staley, Klobuchar and Puskarich. NAY:None. Members of the Junior Chamber of 'ommerce addressed tt-e council, in regard to furnishing stop lights on one intersection, with the city paying for installation of same. It was moved by Alderman Duncan, seconded by Alderman Cook, the Finance Committee meet With the Jr. Chamber of Commerce, to decide if this would be possible and if the necessary funds would bc: obtainable, and the motion carried by a viva voce vote. It was moved by Alderman Miller, seconded bl- Alde -man "uncap, an ordinance be prepared eliminating stop-sign at 7th and fish Street. Roll call vote: AYE: Alderman Sebree, Duncan, Moore, Lundry, Miller, Smith, Linder, Tink, Coleman, Cook, Staley, Klobuchar and Puskarich. NAY: Alderman Skinner. On motion of Alderman Klobuchar, seconded by Alderman Cook, the meeting adjourned. C y er i i i
