A regular meeting of the City Council held this day convening at the hour of 7:30P.M.
with Mayor Woods presiding. Roll call showed the following present: ,ilderman Sebree,
Duncan, Moore, Lundry, Pliller, Smith, Linder, 'skinner, fink, Coleman, Cook, St"ley,
Kl.obuchar and Puskarich. Absent: None.

It was moved by Alderman. Moore, seconded by ilderman Duncan to a cce;)t the re-;orts and
place on file, any? the motion car-ied by a viva voce vote.
A communication from the Dept. of I'ubl_ic health, approving the plans and svecificatioa
for the por.osed improvement to the waterworks, including extensions: and a communication
from the Sanitary water Board, relative to the necessary repairs at the sewage treatment
plant were on motion of Alderman .Moore, s conded by Alderman Cook, accepted and ordered
filed.
Resolution for installation of l Overhead stre:!t Lamp at Cherry Street, between
lst and 2nd avenue, was submitted. It was moved b„ Alderman skinner, seconded. by Alder-
man Cook, adopted by the following mull call vote: AYE: Alderman Sebree, Duncan, Moore,
Lundry, miller, Smith, Linder, Skinner, Tim,-, Coleman, Cook, Klobuchar and i')�skarich.

by title only.

It was moved by Alderman Moore, seconded by alderman Smith, to place on
' its passage Ordinance enti.lted "Tax Levy Ordinance 1953-1954". Roll call vote: r,.YE:
Alderman Sebree, Duncan, Moore, Lundry, Miller, Smith, Linder, Skinner, `fink, Coleman,
Cook, Staley, Klobuchar and Puskari_ch. NAY: None. The chair declared the motion
carried and the ordinance passed, being Ordinance No. 181.
An Ordinance entitled "Salaries-City Employees" was road for the second time by
title only. It was moved by Alderman Skinner, seconded by Alderman Cook, to place on
its passage Ordinance entitled "Salaries-City Employees". Roll call vote: AYE: Alder-
man Sebree, Duncan, Moore, Lundry, i°filler, Smith, Linder, Skinner, `I'i.nk, Coleman,
Cook, Staley, Klobuchar and T'uskarich. NAY: None. The chair declared the motion
carried and the Ordinance passed, being Ordinance No. 182.
An Ordinance entitled "Traffic Ordinance-Through Streets" was read for the first
time. It was moved by Alderman Klobuchar, seconded by Alderman i-uskarich to suspend
the rules requiring the Ordinance be read the second time. Roll call vote: AYE: Alder-
man Sebree, Duncan, Moore, Lundry, Hiller, Smith, Linder, Tink, Coleman, Cook, Staley%,
Klobuchar and ?'uskarich. NAY: Alderman Skinner. the chaii declared the motion passed.

on its passage. Roll call vote: AYE: Alderman Sebree, Luncan, Moore, Lundry, Miller,

An Ordinance entitled "Auth.-)rizing the Granting of an Easement to the C. I. P. S.Co."
was read for the first time. It was moved by Alderman Linder, seconded by alderman

An Ordinance entitled "Ordinance authorizing; the ,xecution of Agreement with
the C. I. F. S. (;o. for Electrical Energy for 14unicipal Pumping" was read for the
first time.
On motion of Alderman T.,inder, seconded by Alderman Coleman, the Clerk was in-
structed to open bids received on an End-loader, and the motion carried by a viva voce vote.

The Council recessed to study the bids. Upon re-c-,nvening it wa^ moved by Alder-
man Coleman, seconded by .aderman T'uskari.ch, to accept the low bid of Canton 1`ord Tractors
at 'rlP35.17, and the i�iay or and Clerk be authorzed to enter into contract with the Cant )n
,'ord Tractors Co, for their End-Loader. Roll call vote: AYE: Alderman Sebree, Duncan,
Moore, Lundry, Miller, Smith, Linder, Skinner, 'Pink, Coleman Cook, Staley, Klobuchar and
Puskarich. NA'': None. The chair declared the motioncarried.
It was moved by Alderman Duncan, seconded by Alderman sundry, the Clerk) re-adver-
tise for bids on a car for the police c?partment, bids to be received and opened on August
1"th, and the motion carried by a viva voce vote.
On motion of Alderman Skinner, seconded by Alderman nlo''"uchar, the Junior J-C 's and
CrandMothers Club, were granted the use of the entire `Scuare, during t')eir Fall-Festival
for the erection of tents za.r.d. rides, and the motion carried by unanimous roll call vote.
On motion of Alderman Lun6ry, seconded by Alderman Smith, the Optimus Club was
granted the us: of Jones Park on Aug. 8th, to set up a booth to sell tickets for Lh&ir
Circus, by a viva voce vote.
It was moved by Alderman ,taley, seconded by Alderman Linder, that parking meters
and other obstructions of the traffic view be removed to 15 ft. back of all crosswalks,
and lino-narking" signs be installed where necessary, and the motion carried by unanimous
roll call vote.
