A regular meeting of the City Council held this day conveningat the hour of
7:00 P. M. with Mayor Woods presiding. Roll call showed the following present:
Alderman Sebree, 731pckaby, Moore, Jones, Skinner, Linder, Hand, Tink, Cook, St.
Clair and Klobuchar. Absent: Alderman Terrening.
Minutes of the previous meeting were read and stood, approved as read.
Petition of Harold E. Miller, owner of the Miller Auto Body, requesting permis-
sion of the council to install a one-thousand gallon gasoline underground tank at
the rear of his business in the 600 block S. Fifth and S. Sixth avenue, was granted
on motion of Alderman Klobuchar, seconded by Alderman Hand, with the stipulation
that the petitioner comply with all State and City regulations governing same, Rnd
the motion carried by unanimous roll call vote.
Petition of the Street Dept. and the Water & Sewer Dent. , requesting an hourly
rate pay of $1.60 per hour, was on motion of Alderman St . Clair, seconded by Alder-
" man Jones, to refer same to the Finance committee and. the motion cer.ried.
r Communication from the State Dert. of Health, relative to complaints associated
with "red-water", was on motion of Alderman Jones, seconded by Alderman St. Clair,
accepted and ordered filed.

Permit from the Sanitary Water Board, granted the City permission to construct
and maintain sewer extensions at the North Main Limits area. On motion ofAld.erman
St. Clair, seconded by Alderman Linder, same was accepted and ordered filed by a
viva voce vote.
It was moved by Alderman St. Clair, seconded by Alderman Moore, the City Engin-
eer and City Attorney, look after the acquiring of the needed Right--of-way for the
Installation of this sewer and that the engineer order the necessary clay pipe, and
proceed with installation of same. Roll call vote: AYE: Alderman Sebree, Blackaby,
Moore, Jones, Skinner, Linder, Hand, Tink, Cook, St. Clair and Klobu.ehar. NAY: none.
The chair declared the motion carried.
Ordinance entitled "An Ordinance Regulating and Acceptance of Subdivisions" was
read for the second. time. It was moved by Alderman Moore, seconded by Alderman Cook,
to place the ordinance on its passage. Roll call vote: AYE: Alderman Sebree,
Blackaby, Moore, Jones, Skinner, Linder, Hand, Tink, Cook, St. Clair and Klobuchar.
NAY: None. The chair declared the motion carried and ordinance passed, being Ordinance
No. 175.
An ordinance entitled "Ordinance regulating traffic" was read for the second
time. It was moved by Alderman Moore, seconded by Alderman Sebree, to hold over
voting on this ordinance until the next meeting, and. the motion carried by a viva
voce vote.
The appointment of Raymond Ball as police officer was submitted by the Police
and Fire Commissioners. The Mayor then submits for approval by the council, the
name of Ray&ond Ball as police patrolman for probation period. It was moved by
Alderman St. Clair, seconded by Alderman Cook, to confirm the appointment, and his
bond to be approved by the Finance committee. as soon as filed. The motion carried
by the following roll call vote: AYE: Alderman Sebree, Blackaby, Moore, Jones,
Skinner, Linder, Hand, Tink., Cook, St. Clair and Klobuchar. NAY: None.
On motion of Alderman Jones, seconded. by Alderman Blackaby, the Junior Police
were granted priviledge of holding their tap-day on April 4th , by a viva voce vote.
The Junior Chamber of Commerce reauested permission to use the East and South
side of the Square, on May 30th, to aronser a Teen-age Rod.io. It was moved by
Alderman Moore, seconded by Alderman Jones, ter grant them this request, as long
as they don't interfere with Memorial Day services of the Veterans organizations,
and the motion carried by the following vote: AYE: Alderman Sebree, Blackaby,
Moore, Jones, Skinner, Linder, Fand, Tink, Cook, St. Clair and Klobuchar. ITAY: None.
On motion of Alderman Klobuchar, seconded by Alderman Moore, the me eting
adjourned.
