Dec. 2, 1952
A meeting of the City Council held this rhyy convening at the hour of 7:00 P. M.
WithMayor Woods presiding. Roll call showed the following present: Alderman Sebree,
Blackaby, Moore, Jones, Skinner, Linder, Band, Tink, Terpening, Cook and Klobuchar.
Absent: Alderman St. Clair.
Minutes of the previous meeting were read , and approved after a correction by
Alderman Hand, that the price of the Chlorinator for the waterworks be changed to
read $1985.00 with a trade-in on the :tact old machine of $185.00. It was then
moved by Alderman Hand, seconded by Alderman Jones, the Mayor and City Clerk be
authorized to enter into contract with Wallace Tiernan Co. for the chlorinator, in
an emergency measure, and the motion carried. , by unanimous roll call vote.

The following officer' s monthly reports were submitted: Sewage Treatment Plant;
Chief of Police; Water treatment plant;Water& Sewer dept; City Treasurer; Bldg.
Comm; St. Sutp; City Engr. On motion of Alderman Moore, seconded by Alderman Jones,
the reports were accepted and ordered placed on file by a viva voce vote
A communication from the Illinois Meter Repair Co. , filed complaint r4lative to
their bid for water meters being rejected, since they were low bidders. The city
attorney was directed to write them, by AldermanBlackaby, that it was none of
their business where the city wanted to buy their meters.

JAlderman Moore moves, seconded by Alderman Sabres, the w. L. Miller Coast. Co.
? be paid $4500.00 on their oiling of street contract from the Road Bridge Fund,
and the balance from Parking Meter Fund as the funds are available, and the motion
carried by unanimous roll call vote.
The following report of the canvass board of Police. Pension Board election
held Nov. 19, 1952, was submitted:

Being a tie vote between-Robert Harding, #enneth Lindzey and James Smith, upon
drawing.James Smith won by draw. Therefore the two members elected from the Police
Department for two-year terms were Mathew Bohler and James Smith.

It.was moved by Alderman Klobuchar, seconded.by Alderman Terpening, .to accept
the report and the motion arried by unanimous roll call vote.
Bond of Richard Smith, as police patrolman, In the sum of $1000.00 with the
American Surety Co. of N. Y. was on motion of Alderman Moore, seconded by Alderman
Linder, .accepted and ordered filed by a viva voce vote.
Resolution for overhead lamp on E. Hickory between Main and First; end of
Frenceh.Court; Keeling Court and W. Birch St., was on motion of Alderman Moore,
seconded by Alderman Blackaby, adopted by unanimo-qs roll call vote.
On motion of Alderman Moore, seconded by Alderman Klobuchar, the meeting
then adjourned.
