Aug. 19, 1952
A regular meeting of the City Council herd this day, convening at the hour of
7:90P.M, with Mayor pro-tem Linder presiding. Roll call showed the following -nresent:
Alderman Sebree, Kacka.by, Moore, Jones, Skinner, Linder, Nand, Tink, Ternening,
Cook, St . Clair and F'l.obuehQr. Absent; none.

and srecial meeting of Aug, loth, were read and stood aTmroved as read,
Alderman Rand resorts on a ecm#unica.tion he received from the Cannady Const. Co.
in which they submitted a proposal for im-nrovements at the water slant, at a lower bid
then the two bids received at a previous letting. After considerable discussion as to
the legality of accenting such a proposal, it was moved by Alderman Jones, seconded
by Alderman Moore to refer the matter to the water & sewer committee and city attorney
to investigate and report back at the next meeting, and. the motion carried by unanimous
roll call vote.
Resignation of John Taylor as rll,mbing insnectior effective Aug. 22, was on
motion of Alderman Jones, seconded by Alderman Sebree accented b
sc , y a viva, voce vote.
Communication from the Division of TTighways, relative_ to widening and re-surfacing
Route 9 from S. 5th Ave, to 'tanner, was on motion of Alderman St. Clair, seconded
by Alderman Klobuchar, referred to the Street & Alley committee and City Engineer and.
City Attorgey, by a viva voce vote.

Resolution requesting 2 overhead lamps in Spin View Terrace Addition, was on
motion of Alderman St. Clair, seconded by Alderman Tlobuchar, adopted by unanimous
roll call vote.
On motion of Alderman Moore, seconded by Alderman Jones, the city engineer was
instructed to check on the necessary repairs to the Vine St. bridge and an estimete of
the cost same and report back.
It wa.s reported by the clerk no bids had been received for a new or used -nick-up
truck for the street department advertiser) for this date. On motion of Alderman St.
Clair, seconded by Alderman Moore, the clerk was instr,lcted. to re-advertise for bids
for a new or used pick-up, bids to he received on Sent. 2nd, and the motion carried.
It was moved by Alderman St. Clair, seconded by Alderman Jones, the City Clerk
advertise for 50 new water meters, for the water derartment, and the motion carried.
It was moved by Alderman Moore, seconded by Alderman Sebree, the City engineer
check on the Barker drive on Fast Birch St, and report )tack, and the motion carried.
On motion of Alderman Moore, seconded. by Alderman Ternening, the meetinp adjourned,
