A regular meeting of the City Council held this day convening at
tl�e hour of 7:00 P . 1'. with -Luayor Woods presiding. roll call showed I
the folloi�ving present : Alderman Sebree, Blackaby, ly.00re, Jones, Murphy, I
Skinner, Linder , band, 'link, St. Clair and nlobuchar. Absent : Ald er-
man Cook and Terpening.
1-inutes of the previous meeting were read and stood a. ,:roved as
read .
It was moved by Alderman Moore, seconded by Alderman nlobuchar,
the absent Alderman were marked as present.
Peition of the Sinclair ::refining Co . for permission to install
2-2000 gal. underground storage tanks at their station at Lain and
Olive St. , was on motion of Alderman 'Loore, seconded by Alderman
Skinner, denied by unanimous roll call vote.
A communication from Samuel .gooks of Davenport, Iowa, relative
to a regetta on Lake Canton was read . It was moved by Alderman aand,
seconded by Alderman Moore, to reply to this co:munication that the
City waa not interested , and the motion carried by a viva voce vote.
An Ordinance entitled "An ordinance prepared and transmitted and
its passage recommended by the Board of Local Improvements of the City
of Uanton, 111inois , providing for the local imporvement of certain
portions of Cass Pl,+ce in the City of Canton, Illinois, forming a
connected system of pavement and designated "Canton Paving Improvement
Number 51-E" was read for the first time. It was moved by Alderman
St. Clair, seconded by Alderman nlobuchar, to suspend the rules require-
ing the ordinance be read the second time. Aoll call vote:_`.YE: Alderman
13ebree, Blackaby , ioore , Jones , I,. urphy, Skinner, Linder, hand , link,
St. Clair and Klobuchar. NAY : None. The chair declared the motion
carried . It was moved by Alderman at. Clair, seconded by Alderman
Klobuchar to place the ordinance on its passage. boll call vote: AYE:

fink, St. Clair and nlobuchar. NAY : none. The chair declared the
motion carried and the ordinance passed, being Ordinance 14'o. 150 .
An Ordinance entitled "An Ordinance prepared and transmitted
and its passage recorr,mended by the Board of Local Improvements of the
City of Canton, Illinois, providing for the local improvement of cer-
tain portions of S. Second avenue in the City of Canton, Illinois,
forrr_ing a connected system of pavement and designated "Canton Paving
Improvement iio . 51-M" was read for the first time. It was moved by
Alderman Skinner, seconded by Alderman Linder to suspend the roles
requiring the ordinance be read the second time. Roll call vote: AYE:
Alderman Sebree, Blackaby , Loore, Jones , Lurphy, Skinner, Linder, hand ,

motion carried . It was moved by Alderman Skinner, seconded by Alder-

An Ordinance entilted "An Ordinance prepared and transmitted and
its passage recommended by the Board of Local Improvements of. the City
of Canton, Illinois, providing for the local improvement of certain
portions of an alley lying between 1� orth i+ irst Avenue and North Second
,,venue and of an alley lying between .fast Elm St. and East Chestnut 5t.
in the City of Canton, Illinois , forminL_- a connected system of pavement
and designated as "Canton Paving Improvement No . 52-A" was read for the
first time. It mas moved by Alderman Linder, seconded by Alderman St.
Clair to suspend the rules requiring the ordinance be read the second
time. roll call vote: AYE: Alderman Sebree, 3lackaby , Loore, Jones,
Lurpny, Skinner, Linder, band, Ti _k, St. Clair and nlobuchar. NAY:
none. The chair declared the ir:otion carried . It was moved by Alderman
St. Clair, seconded by Alderman 'fink, to place the ordinance on its
passage. moll call vote: AYE: Alderman Sebree, Blackaby , Loore, Jones,
Lurphy, Skinner, Linder, nand, rink, St. Clair and Klobuchar. NAY: none.
The chair declared the motion carried and the ordinance passed, being
Ordinance �4o. 1�)2.
The M=ayor names for approval by the Council the following appoint-
ments : Prances Evans to the Garbage department to replace Arnold Walker,
resigned, and Andrew xumler as water plant operator to replace Mobert
Baughman, resigned .

it was moved by alderman l-.ckaby, seconded by Alderman Jones , to
approve the appointments , and the notion carried by unanimous roll
call vote.
Increase in salary of the City Attorney, was referred to the
rdina.nce corrr-.ittee, to prepare an ordinance for consideration by the
council.
Lr. Crawford of Crawford , LurpbLy and !'illy, Consulting engineers,
explained to the Council the needed rapairs at the waterworks plant.
it was moved by Alderman -blackaby, seconded by Alderr:ian nlobuchar,
the engineers prepare plans and specifications , with the accellators
to be of such capacity as to handle a 100!6 increase, and the filters
a 50 � increase, such plans to be submitted at the next meeting. boll
call vote : YE: Alderman Sebree, .Slackaby, Moore, Jones, u-urphy,
Skinner, Linder, hand , 'fink, St. Clair and Klobuchar. 1AY: none.
