A Special Council meeting was held on August 10th at 6:30 p.m. for the
purpose of considering the awarding of 1982 M.F.T. maintenance and const-
ruction contracts. The meeting was held in council chambers.
PLEDGE OF ALLEGIACNE OPENED THE MEETING, FOLLOWED BY THE INVOCATION GIVEN
BY THE CITY CLERK NANCY WHITES.
Mayor Edwards asked for roll call at 6:30 p.m. Present: Aldermen Kovache-
vich, Hammond, Savill , Sarff, Grant, Carl , Horr. Absent: Alderman Larsen.
Cliff Sagaser City Engineer gave each council member a tabulation of the
bids, they are as follows: Pschirrer Asphalt Co. for Oil & Chips $62,973.94
and the Rejuvenator $9,805.94 for a total of $72,779.88. Peoria Blacktop
Co for Asphalt Overlay $34,068.60. Seneca Petroleum Co. Oil & Chip $63,313.12
and the Rejuvenator $9,643.59. Pschirrer Asphalt bid hot mix patch material
bid of $32.00 a ton for a total of $12,800.00 this was a separate bid.
Cliff Sagaser will put these bids on separate acceptance proposal forms in
the amount of $62,973.94; $9,600.00, $12,800.00 and Cliff has a contract
form for the blacktop item of $34,068.00. All of these will be delivered
to Charlie Barton's office tomorrow at the department of transportation.
The rejuvenator material will be used on Walnut Street from Avenue E to D;
Cherry from lst to 2nd; Hickory from 2 to 3rd; Elm St from 7th to 8th; Haffner
from Locust to Thompson Ct; Howard Place from 2nd to 3rd; Spruce from 2nd to
3rd; lst avenue from Spruce to Ash.
Cliff announced that he had know choice and went against all regulations and
ordered $2,600.00 worth of materials that has to be applied prior to this
asphalt work, man-hole adjusting rings have been ordered, and the cost will
be about $79.00 to $89.00 apeice. This will be paid out of M.F.T. monies
which $100,000.00 was apropriated, from M.F.T. monies will be spending
$62,973.94 and the $12,800.00. The amount of $9,643.59 , $34,068.60 and
$2,600.00 will be paid out of public benefit money.
Cliff Sagaser will bring up the expenditure of $2,600.00 at the council
meeting on August 17th.
Motion by Alderman Savill , second by Alderman Sarff, the bid of Pschirrer
Asphalt in the amount of $62,973.94 for oil and chips; Pschirrer Asphalt
in the amount of $12,800.00 for hot mix patch material ; Peoria Blacktop in
the amount of $34,068.60 for asphalt overlay; Seneca Petroleum Co. in the
amount of $9,643.59 for rejuvenator be awarded. Roll call . AYES: Aldermen
Horr, Carl , Grant, Sarff, Savill , Hammond, Kovachevich. NAYS: None. Motion
carried. Contracts being # 7 ayes 0 nays 1 absent.
ADJOURNMENT: Motion by Alderman Savill , second by Alderman Grant, to adjourn.
Voice vote, motion carried. Council adjourned at 6:53 P.M.
